Dear coffee lovers,

I’ve tracked down two exciting new coffees for you today! For this week’s selection, we’re featuring an approachable Peruvian roast by Coffee Collective in Frederiksberg, Denmark and a wild coffee from Mexico by Proud Mary Coffee founded in Melbourne, Australia. Let’s dive in!

The daily sipper

Today’s clean and balanced selection is Coffee Collective’s newest roast: Rosa. This distinctive lot was produced by Rosa Mesa, who’s passion for coffee began in her early childhood. Mesa grows her coffees organically with her husband, Secundo Olivera, on their farm in Northern Peru.

The Rosa presents an elegant, sweet profile with soft florals complemented by notes of plum and chocolate. Coffee enthusiasts seeking clarity in their brew will find this wash-processed coffee particularly appealing. Brewing a pour-over of this coffee on a quiet morning would be perfect for appreciating its subtle complexities.

The wild one

The Finca Miravalle from Mexico, roasted by Proud Mary, is today’s vibrant selection. This lovely coffee is produced by Rodulfo Santizo Morales who has been in the coffee production business his whole life. Proud Mary gives us a more in-depth look at Don Rodulfo’s journey as a producer:

Starting with just 0.5 hectares, Finca Miravalle has now grown to 5 hectares, planted with Bourbon, Typica, Caturra, and Marsellesa. With the farm’s growth, Don Rodulfo has implemented new management practices and has seen significant improvements in the quality of coffee produced.

This naturally processed coffee will surely provide a unique tasting experience for the coffee lover on the hunt for something wild. You can expect a thick, syrupy flavor profile with juicy notes of purple grape, plum, and kiwi. I’d recommend preparing this coffee as a pour-over or espresso shots for an amazing, fruit-forward brew.
